Next Shaker Lane PTA Meeting: Wednesday, October 1st 6:15pm in the Shaker Lane Library
PTA meetings provide an opportunity to learn about school activities and events. If any specific funding decisions are needed, they will be made with the input of everyone present (and any input provided ahead of time by those who can’t attend). Decisions are made by the community at large. An agenda for each meeting, including any funding requests, will be published before each meeting. Please join us!
Interested in becoming a classroom ambassador?
Thank you for considering volunteering for the role of Classroom Ambassador for your child's class! Being a Classroom Ambassador is a rewarding opportunity to share your student's experience at Shaker Lane. You will interact with both the teachers and families throughout the year. Typically, each classroom will have 2, or sometimes 3, room ambassadors that will split the responsibilities. It is important that you collaborate with your teacher to understand their specific needs. This role requires planning, organizing and communicating with fellow families.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assisting the teacher with planning special classroom activities as requested by teacher
Coordinating class gifts for teachers in December & June
Class Ambassadors are encouraged to attend PTA meetings to serve as a liaison (First PTA Meeting is October 1 @ 6:15pm at SLS.)
Occasionally sharing news/info from the PTA with class parents

We have many opportunities for parents to get involved (i.e. Fun Run Scholastic Book Fair, Springfest, Cultural Fair, ChalkFest, Teacher Appreciation, Field Days, input during bi-monthly meetings, etc).

Each Shaker Lane classroom has between 2-3 Classroom Ambassadors. These individuals will communicate with the classroom teacher about more immediate needs for their individual classrooms.
